Bio

Coach Ted Dorrell brings more than 30 years of coaching experience to the Harrah Panther football program. Throughout his career, Coach Dorrell has built a reputation for developing successful teams, mentoring student-athletes, and fostering a culture centered on discipline, toughness, accountability, and character.

Coach Dorrell began his coaching career at Choctaw High School, where he coached from 1995–2007, serving in multiple roles including Head Football Coach, Offensive Coordinator, and Assistant Coach. He later joined Jones High School as Offensive Coordinator from 2007–2011, returning to the program from 2015–2021 and again from 2023–2026. During his time at Jones, Coach Dorrell helped lead one of Oklahoma’s premier football programs, including serving as Offensive Coordinator for two state championship teams.

From 2011–2015, Coach Dorrell served as Head Football Coach at Little Axe High School, where he focused on program development and building strong relationships with student-athletes and the community. He later served as Head Football Coach at Classen SAS at Northeast from 2021–2022, continuing his commitment to developing young men through leadership, discipline, and competitive excellence.

Coach Dorrell earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education from University of Central Oklahoma in 1996 and later completed a Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in Sports Administration from East Central University in 2010.

Coach Dorrell believes football is about far more than wins and losses—it is about preparing young people for success in life. His coaching philosophy emphasizes accountability, discipline, teamwork, and relentless effort while striving to build a championship culture that reflects pride in the Harrah community.

Coach Dorrell has been married to his wife, Tami, since June of 1997. Together, they are proud parents of twins, Tessa and Treyton.
